Launching fall 2026
“Mind Over Media”
2026-27 Collaboration Campaign
OMLC is launching the “Mind Over Media” collaboration campaign.
Throughout the 2026-27 school year, OMLC members will be engaging with youth, educators, caregivers, school leaders, and policymakers to understand what schools and families need to get media and AI literacy right.
Collaboration Sessions: We hope to partner with ESDs, school districts, and other organizations across the state to co-host in-person and virtual discussions to hear from key groups around the state.
News Literacy Project District Fellowship: We want to connect school districts with the News Literacy Project’s paid fellowship program for districts interested in using their free resources.
Youth gathering youth voices: OMLC will be partnering with youth journalism organizations and others to gather insights regarding the role that media and media literacy play in youth’s lives.
Resource curation and development: We are collecting existing media and AI literacy resources to curate a filterable resource hub for educators, youth, and caregivers.
Professional learning: We hope to support educators who are interested in integrating media and AI literacy into their instruction through formal professional learning opportunities as well as a statewide community of practice.
